The 500 Film Challenge

500 movies/films. 1 year. 500 anecdotes-reviews-views-comments-side joke on films.

.. It all began when the author saw the Norah Efron film Julie and Julia (2009) wherein the other main character, blogger named Julie Powell’s quest to cook and blog her way through The French Cook Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking which has about 524 recipes. The concept of having to document Powell’s experiences of cooking each recipes the way Child has done it on her cookbook, although it may sound a bit insanely fanatic had caught a bit of an excitement in the author. Hence, on 7 February 2011 she began watching films and listing each films per day on her diary and published at least 20 reviews from the list.

Unfortunately, some of the films seen were saved on the author’s mobile phone thus leaving a big gap on the list saved (a portion of that list was actually published here). This has caused major writer’s block for the author, making it more difficult to finish the challenge.

This year, the author began the list for this year’s challenge on January 1, 2013. An update has been posted on April 3, 2013 along with this year’s challengers.
